My Philosophy
Keep it simple! There’s power in simplicity. It brings clarity and focus. Simple doesn’t mean easy, but many problems come from people trying to get “sophisticated” with money. They juggle too much at once, and nothing gets done well. Matrimoney offers biblically based, common-sense guidance that brings hope and empowerment to couples in every stage of their relationship.

I can relate because I've been there...
Hi! I’m Genette Dugger. You’re here because you need help with your finances, your marriage, or both—and Matrimoney is the place to find that help. I’ve been where you are and have gone through the same program I now teach.

Our financial journey began in 2013, when we were living in Nashville, TN. After four years of marriage, a new baby, and over $80K in debt, we were living paycheck to paycheck. My husband, Ryan, worked a draining job, but during his long delivery routes, he started listening to the Dave Ramsey Show. He came home excited about a step-by-step plan to financial freedom, and I was desperate enough to listen.
We thought we were doing fine—new house, new car, student loans, credit cards—just like everyone else. But when we hit rock bottom, unable to afford groceries, we knew something had to change. We sold our home and car, moved into my parents’ basement, and started working the plan with intensity.
By 2016, we had paid off all our consumer debt and had relocated to Chattanooga. That freedom gave us the courage to launch Ryan’s business, invest in a vacation rental retreat, and make other life-changing decisions we never thought possible. More importantly, our mindset shifted—we stopped borrowing, started saving, and took control of our financial future.
Since 2018, I’ve made it my mission to help others do the same. The books and classes are great (and I recommend them!), but having a coach gives you accountability, guidance, and a custom plan for your unique situation. I’d be honored to walk with you on your financial journey so that one day, you can proudly tell your success story.
What Makes Matrimoney Different?
I don’t just teach you how to manage money—I teach you how to do it with your spouse. Couples who align on finances have a greater chance of building wealth than anyone else. Yet, money remains the #1 cause of divorce, and most couples aren’t having the financial conversations they should. That’s why I became a financial coach.
But I didn’t start there…
