What is a financial coach?A financial coach is a trained expert who helps you transform the way you handle money. I’m not just here to give advice — I’m your guide, walking with you through your financial journey. Together, we’ll create a personalized plan, set achievable goals, and work step-by-step to give you confidence and control over your money. It takes time, but there’s light at the end of the tunnel — and I’ll help you get there. As a Ramsey Preferred Coach, I use the most proven financial plan in America — the same plan that has helped millions of people get out of debt, build wealth, and find true financial freedom.

How is a financial coach different from financial advisors and other experts? There are a lot of similar job titles out there, but here is what a financial coach is NOT: Financial advisor/planner: they tend to focus on retirement planning specifically and manage your investments. They do not usually help clients with their behaviors, budgeting, debt pay-off strategies, etc. I can advise on certain investment strategies (when is the right time, how much you should save, etc.), but I will refer you to an advisor for more in depth planning. Financial counselor: similar to a financial coach, but they approach sessions more like a typical counselor or therapist. Coaching is not designed to be a therapeutic relationship and is more client led. Accountant: I know broad tax laws, but please seek a CPA for your tax advice. Attorney: I cannot give legal advice. But if you are considering bankruptcy, I can help you determine if you are actually bankrupt. Counselor/therapist: If you are in need of these services, I can provide referrals.

Who is financial coaching for?Coaching is for anyone who wants to take control of their finances—whether you're struggling with debt, preparing for a major life change, or looking to improve financial communication with your spouse.
-
Do I need to be married to work with you?Not at all! While I specialize in helping married couples, I also work with individuals who want to improve their financial future. The Marriage and Money program includes a stage specifically for those who are single or dating, with financial goals tailored to that season of life. Even if you're not married (or don't plan to be), there's still a place for you in the process. However, if you're seeking couples coaching—where two people follow a shared plan—I only work with married couples, as I do not recommend combining finances prior to marriage.
-
How long does coaching take? The Marriage and Money program is a total of 9 sessions. It is designed to take about 4 months. We meet for the initial 2-hour “deep dive” session, and then meet bi-weekly for the remaining 8 sessions. Studies show that it takes an average of 90 days to perfect your budget, so I want to allot at least this much time together so you feel confident taking all the tools and knowledge you have gained and implementing them on your own.
-
Do you do couples counseling? Not anymore. I now focus on the thing in marriage I’m most passionate about: finances. Since money is the topic couples fight about most, by getting on the same page about money, it indirectly helps your marriage. *If your marriage is suffering from abuse, addiction, or infidelity, it is best to handle those issues with a licensed marital therapist PRIOR TO seeking out a financial coach. This program is not a substitute for marriage counseling.

If I'm already struggling with money, how can I afford a financial coach?I understand it may feel scary to spend money when you are already stressed about your finances. But please think about this question: Can you afford to continue going down the same path you are on now? One of the best decisions you can make is to work with someone who’s been where you are—a guide who knows the way out. The likelihood of success is greater when you hire an expert: just like hiring a mechanic or a personal trainer. Plus, the majority of people feel like they got a raise when they get organized and we create their first budget together. They find extra room they didn’t know they had once they uncover spending they didn’t know they were doing and find ways to cut things out. If you are still feeling unsure, you can book a no-cost phone consultation and we can talk more about your concerns or any questions you have.
-
Do you offer virtual coaching?Yes! Sessions can be done online, so you can get coaching from anywhere.
-
What if my spouse isn't on board? This is not an uncommon issue! I specialize in working with couples because money is such a relational issue — having both partners involved ensures the best results. If your spouse is hesitant, I would recommend starting with the Single Session package to help you navigate money conversations and work toward financial unity.
